Stone Flowers Pencil Sketch

Based on a photo from a set of photos I took at Planting Fields for a Memorial Day Birthday party. I decided a little while ago that this would be a fun one to do, and i hardly ever do still lives...but then i started it...and figured i i had bitten off more than i could chew when i realized how much i was intimidated by all those flower petals - i actually worked completely around them before filling them in at all....

but I'm pleasantly surprised with the result and glad i stuck with it. I did add a little more texture in certain areas of the stone to help with distinctions. there was texture already, but not in ALL the stone....

time elapsed - unsure - but the flowers by themselves took about 6 hours on the final sit down out of four
